Gorgeous Avalon Avatar speakers in cherry wood, with black grilles. Look and sound great with both tube and solid-state power. I rated the speakers conservatively - they're in very good condition, with no notable dings or scratches to the furniture-grade finish. The Avatars were designed by Charles Hansen, and unlike later, ported, Avalons feature a sealed design with a near-ideal Q.Speakers have the original tweeter protective screens, which may be removed for slightly more articulate highs. I will also supply a .PDF copy of the Owner's Manual. I used the speakers with Mapleshade brass footers and/or maple platforms (not supplied); no footers included. Bi-wire capable, supplied with the original Avalon jumpers. Cable connections are made under the speakers, via screw termination; the crossovers are acoustically isolated in the metal base of the speakers. Sleek angled design makes the Avatars appear much more svelte than their 65 pounds each would suggest. Well-priced for quick sale. Reasonable offers gladly considered. Note: The "Special Edition" designation reflects, according to Avalon, that the speaker was specially prepared for Golden String & Co., an Avalon distributor, and has special enhanced crossovers not available on the regular model.
