PLEASE NOTE: There seems to be some confusion among potential buyers as to whether these are in fact true 3.7i speakers. In the picture of the serial #, the plate indicates that the model is the 3.7, not the 3.7i. This pair was among the first to be shipped (February, 2014) at the release of this model, and some early ones shipped with plates indicating 3.7 rather than 3.7i, Magnepan has assured me that these speakers are indeed 3.7i's, and have confirmed it with a letter, the partial text of which being: ".....At the time your speakers were assembled, we had implemented these (3.7i) improvements but were not quite ready to make a public announcement of the "new and improved MG3.7i. Your speakers with the serial number 72918 are indeed MG3.7i speakers. This letter serves as certification that you are in possession of a pair of 3.7i's.....". Please note that the packing slip (also included when I ship to buyer) indicates that the speakers are 3.7is, and the box does also.
The serial #s are the same on each speaker, save one has the extension of "1" and the other "2". In the picture of the accessories, you see a pair of copper wire "jumpers" that I made. They attenuate the tweeter slightly less than the 1 ohm resistors and slightly more than the stock metal bar. Also, please be aware, as stated below, some of the packing (cardboard padding) inside the box is not original. Dimensions: 72" high, 24" wide and 1 3/4" "deep".
Shipping Dimensions: one box at 75" x 27" x 6" for the speakers, and a second box with the feet, accessories, manual and letter from Magnepan is 19" x7" x 5". Total weight of the 2 boxes is about 150 lbs.
