Beautiful medium-dark cherry finish. See last photo. Excellent, like-new condition, I am the original owner and
they were used sparingly by me and well cared for. This is a good deal for someone who wants a piece of the BBC original instead of an old out-of-spec model from eBay with worn capacitors, or questionable replacement parts. This 65th Anniversary edition meets BBC specs for the LS3/5a and sounds very much like the best 15 ohm originals, which I owned, along with the Sterling V2, so I was able to compare different versions. The 65th Anniversary model has a natural, detailed and fleshed out sound, and they present that great LS3/5a sound-stage, which is tall, wide and 3D-like. An overall excellent small monitor. This is one of the best LS3/5a versions available. Here is a review of this 65th Anniversary version by Martin Colloms: http://www.enjoythemusic.com/hificritic/vol3_no3/rogers_ls35.htm in which he states "In my opinion this is the best of the modern LS3/5a clones I've heard ..." and "This new version actually bests a huge number of the less good 15 Ohm models..."
These speakers have the original birch plywood cabinets and black Tygan grills. It has slighter better bass and slightly better efficiency (-3db at 70Hz, and 83dB efficient) than its predecessor. They can be driven with great results with as little as a 20 watt tube amp. Check out my feedback on A'gon with over ten years of 100% satisfaction under the name JPS.
