I have owned this pair of the Teresonic Magus A55s their bookshelf size speakers for the last four years. There are pictures as well as reviews of the Magus A55s by me on the Dagogo website. These are the best small monitor size speakers I have heard, when you add to this they are 98db efficient that is amazing. I have driven them with 2.5 watt tube amps, 8 watt 300B SETs, and an Electrocompaniet integrated amp. I have owned Teresonic Speakers for the last seven years. Their Ingenium XR Silvers have been my reference system and still is since 2007. I have review speakers up to $70,000, and none have bettered the Teresonics. So why am I parting with the Magus A55s? Well, we got a much bigger flat screen tv, and we had to change things in the Video/Digital system. The Magus no longer fit into the wall unit my wife got for the living room. By the way we have a deal, I get to do what I want in the dedicated music room, and she gets to do the living room. So the Magus are for sell. The advantage of getting a used pair is that Lowthers is that they are broken in. It takes Lowthers about a year or two to totally break in. Also, it is getting harder to get the Lowther Alnico drivers. If for any reason you don’t want a broken in pair, Mike at Teresonic will put a brand new pair of Lowther A55 Drivers in these cabinets (as long as he can get them). This would cost an additional $950, but they would then come with the full factory warranty. Nice of them but I would advise taking the broken in pair. They are great sounding. I do not have the stands, but they are available from Teresonic. I do have the gold spikes, and I used them with the rear spike removed and sitting on a maple cutting board sitting on the floor. You would be shocked how good they sounded that way in my reference system. In the video system, I used them with the spikes on an open air cabinet about 18 inches off the floor. I have rated them an 8 because of age. Look at the pictures closely I have tried to give a fair reprensation of how they look. To me they look just like they did when I got them. Because they are the cabinets are hand made in Europe by instrument builders no pair is absolutely perfect like those made by machines, but they are more beautiful. Magus technical specification
