Up for your consideration one of the best tape decks ever made, Nakamichi Dragon. This particular unit is in excellent condition and was fully rebuilt by master Nakamichi Technician Willy Hernann in Nov 2012. Here is what Willy's rebuild entailed ...• Dismantled unit and removed transport mechanism.
• Removed auto azimuth block and disassembled.
• Cleaned hardened lubricant jamming threaded shaft and relubed with non hardening lubricant.
• Replaced auto azimuth belt.
• Dismantled tape transport.
• Cleaned old lubricant from capstans, hubs, idler, cam mechanism, head block, pinch roller shafts and rocker arms.
• Re-lubed all as needed.
• Replaced spooling idler tire, cam belt and counter belt.
• Replaced both auto stop lamps with LED's and modified circuit to accommodate them.
• Reassembled transport and auto azimuth blocks.
• Replaced orange caps in the bias oscillator circuitry
• Realigned tape path guides and head depth and zenith.
• Replaced transport mechanism in machine.
• Adjusted transport stop, cue and play points.
• Reset head height and azimuth.
• Adjusted electronics for correct play and record levels.
• Adjusted bias frequency and volume. Adjusted test tone levels.
• Set front panel controls for all three tape types.
• Tested machine extensively for correct function both cold and hot. This cassette deck also has a voltage selector (110/220) switch in the back. I'll include a brand new box of 10 TDK MA 90 Min tapes. I've probably put about 150hrs on the deck since the rebuild. It's truly an awesome sounding
cassette deck. Make me a reasonable offer. PayPal add 3%
