For sale is a complete reel to reel play back set up. The transport is an Otari MX5050 Mark III with custom cherry wood sides. The head stack reworked by JRF Magnetics to include a new Flux magnetic 2 track extended frequency playback head was installed, the quarter track head was lapped and edge slots were cut and the record head was replaced with a dummy head and the entire stack was laser aligned. A Bottlehead tape path kit was installed along with new rubber. The head stack outputs directly to RCA’s installed on the back of the transport as can be seen in the photographs.The repro is a Bottlehead Eros Tape built and upgraded by Paul Birkland of Bottlehead with NAB and IEC switchable EQ curves. The signal tubes are Amperex and Telefunken. In addition to the reel tapes listed below, this package included an addition Otari MX5050 for parts (complete unit), a flight case, multiple aluminum and plastic take up reels, splicing tape and leader tape, and a Hand-D-Mag double ended probe demagnetizer. This is a wonderful sounding reel to reel set up and needs a new home. I will not ship it due to the fragile nature of the Otari units. $3500 cash on local pick up in Bremerton, WA.
