This is a shame, because otherwise, AA at large ROCKS.Amperex 1959 7316 - the industrial uber-12AU7, made only by Amperex, and only in Holland. The tube chalk print says 12AU7--however--the acid etched code of Ct1 means it is a 7316. I guarantee this fact. Pretty nice label. Importantly, it has not only the Bugle Boy logo, but also the treble-clef music symbol. This is rare and it signifies that Amperex selected these to have low microphonics and noise for sensitive music recording applications. The Ct1 code means this is the second 7316 version, the Ct0 version was long-plate and D-getter. However, longer plate means a bit more microphonic. Thus, the Ct1 version is possibly the best 7316 you can buy. The later Ct2-Ct5 versions do not sound as charming as this particular code of Ct1. The treble-clef symbol makes this even rarer. NOS Spec on my EICO 666--which was just calibrated, is 100. This tube tests: 90/112 in dynamic emission. No leaks, and of course no shorts. Very bright flash on start-up, which is a good sign that the tube was little used. Here is your chance to get the most famous (well, second most famous) 12AU7 ever made for a reasonable price. Shipping is $6 only in CONUSA. No Paypal fee. Money back guarantee, except for shipping costs. USA only. Thanks for looking.
