The tubes are branded Amperex PQ but are marked 'Made in Hungary' and were made by Tungsram. All tube lettering on the glass is intact. All three tubes have the characteristic Tungsram metal clip on the plates and the same painted date codes on the glass, 80-28, which I assume means the 28th week of 1980. The tubes were used but were tested on a B&K 700 at the time I bought them and tested very strong / as new to very good / strong. 105 / 105 - 100 / 110 - 98 / 95 They have not been used since I bought them several years ago except to test them for a few hours in my amp. They sound absolutely wonderful. Here is a description of the character of them from tubeman.com:
“ECC88 Tungsram, Hungary, tube, vacuum tube. Beautiful sounding tube, moderately warm tone. Very wide stage, very coherent from top to bottom.” And from tubedepot.com
“Amperex used many different manufacturers to source their tubes and these are from Tungsram. Their performance is very good with detailed top end.” $45 OBO with free priority mail shipping in the U.S. at my asking price and satisfaction guaranteed.
