These are 12AX7's, quite old stock as they are labeled made in India. The acid etched codes reveal that it is really an EI sourced tube however, The Indian factory would have had a V on the factory code , This one has the arc with the dot in the middle. In the ARC SP-3/6 era, the India tubes were noted for a rich mid range and highly sought after. I don't have any Indian tubes now, but am wondering if they were actually EI sourced. Actually checked on the net, the Bharat made tubes had ribbed plates....=and these have smooth plates like the Telefunkens.Actually these are quiet, but have very good bass and dynamics. Originally purchased in the very early 80s. These have, of course, smooth plate structures like the Telefunkens. Look to be very clean in internal appearance, and probably so since they were probably made in the 60's/70's, well before the civil war in Yugoslavia, when EI was a well respected manufacturer. Quite a few available, found in a bulk pack and then repacked into plain white boxes. Purchased from Joel Hazan waaay back. Notice some vendors selling them for $49
