Those privy to the sound of the Lorenz Stuttgard producuction Pcc88 from the early 60's will surely agree there is no finer example in the family.
The Stuttgard production possess the same top to bottom tone and coherency of the legendary Siemens CCA and long considerad the perfect sustitution.Note: These are not the ITT Lorenz or later SEL Lorenz Falcon label examples of the Pcc88! Those are are average at best and most any vintage ecc88 is far superior.
These Stuttgard production are the earliest examples with the grey shield, grey getter post and splatter shield and are even harder to source than the CCA!
These 4 were cherry picked from the inventory of Bell & Howell when they closed doors here in Canada in the late 80's.
Tested on the company's Western Electric [Hickok] tester and selected for perfectly matched triode sections.
Both pairs measure as new, the triode sections measure within a 1% tolerance on all 4 tubes.
I have tested them for any noise or microphonics in the phono stage of an Audible Illusions Modulus phono stage and all are dead quiet.
Note: It would be next to impossible today to find a pair with perfectly balanced triode sections. Offered at $200/pr or $125./each First come, first served.
