Further liquidation of my over-sized tube collection. Here's a large variety - perhaps an example of every type - of Sylvania 12AU7/A vacuum tubes/valves, as well as several vintages of 6189 vacuum tube/valves, from long black plate square getters to late production stepped plates that were among the last of the tube production in the US, and lots in between. There's a system for every tube, and a tube for every system. There're a lot of very nice - and affordable - Sylvania 12AU7/As and 6189s here to try to see what suits your own ears in your own gear. Here're descriptions (based on visual features) of the Sylvania 12AU7/As and 6189s on offer: - 12AU7. Black flat/ladder plates with square getter. Early tube dating to the early-/mid-1950s. - 12AU7. Gray flat/ladder plates with square getter. Mid-/late-1950s vintage. I've had very good results with this tube. - 12AU7A. Next up is short gray plate tube with a raised rectangular getter. Vintage is mid-/late-1950s. - 12AU7A. On to the "stepped" gray plate types with D-getters. This is the earliest version of this tube style. Late-1950s/early-1960s. I've also had good results with this tube. - 12AU7A. Similar looking tube to the one just mentioned above, but with an O-getter. Production dates vary from the mid-1960s to the end of Sylvania's tube production in the late-1980s/early-1990s. - 6189s. These are the "stepped" plate O-getter types. Most are military contract tubes. Vintages range from the mid-960s to the mid-1980s. This is the OE tube for many of the Conrad-Johnson preamplifiers. I've got quite a few of each of the above types. All are tested on one or more of my professionally serviced/calibrated testers (Dan Nelson or Roger Kennedy) - Hickok RD1575, Hickok 6000A, Heathkit TT-1, TV-7D/U. Some're used, some may be new (always hard to confirm NOS more than 40+ years on). Some are in original boxes, some not. Some have great silkscreening, some may have none. Of course, test results and pictures will be provided for the actual tubes you're interested in. Pricing? A very fair range of $10.00USD to $20.00USD each, depending on type/vintage and condition. Paypal, money orders, or personal check payment preferred. Please contact me and we'll talk about what you're looking for. As always, negotiation is welcomed. Let's chat! Cheers, - SJ
