Here is a nice sounding, strong testing, matched pair of genuine Telefunken ECC83/12AX7 tubes. These are the legendary, earliest "ribbed" or "ladder" plate type, with the molded diamond and date codes on the bottoms; plus these have nice logo labelling. These test close and strong; as a collectible pair of phono grade Tellees should. On my trusty Hickok transconductance tube tester, a test result of 875 represents a 65% good tube and new tubes of this type typically yield 1300 or higher. The first tube, dated <5>, tests at 1300 & 1300 and has the smaller logo plus a date code, stamped up top, of 247. Next is a tube dated <6> which tests at 1400 & 1500 and has a slightly larger silk-screened logo, plus a batch code # of B9001301. These tubes passed the Shorts and Gas tests plus show very strong Life Test results when filament voltage was lowered; confirming these are only lightly used tubes. These are some of the earliest vintage Telefunken 12AX7s in my collection. A brief listening test in my phono preamp verifies a very nice sounding, non-microphonic, matched pair of phono grade, genuine Telee tubes. This rare pair of Telefunken ECC83 tubes will easily last many more decades.
