Offered for sale are three matched pairs of Czech Tesla ECC802S (a very high grade low microphony 12AU7 type tube) made in the 1970s. I bought them NOS NIB from Tubemonger in the last two years for use in my DAC. However, I have really not used any of these very fine tubes much at all except to try them out there so they are in nearly the same condition as I got them. I have found that I prefer NOS American blackplate tubes in my DAC. I am rating them 9/10 although they really still are essentially NOS NIB.

Test results for these tubes are in the picture showing results marked by Tubemonger himself on the box ends. All three pairs are practically unused by me except for a brief trial period so all should be in fine shape. Please note that the ECC802S tube is rated for 10,000 hours of use. I can vouch for the fact that all work beautifully as I have tried them all. I paid $50 per tube for a total of $300 of original cost to me.

Here is some more helpful info from Tubemonger about the specific tubes I purchased from him: "All 3 pairs you bought were with NOS scores and the pictures on Audiogon (or AA) confirms that for us. Test scores in Red Ink on (ITEM 1060) are on Hickok 752 and this is the normal range for NOS Tesla ECC802S - Test scores are in Black on (ITEM 1199) are on Hickok 580 which is different scale than the Hickok 752. 1199 pairs also test within NOS Tesla ECC802S average. Please note that NOS Tesla ECC802S typically tests a little lower than the regular ECC82 due to slight difference in specs. That does not mean it will have any less life. These are 10K hour long life tubes. Tube life depends a lot on the chemistry and the quality of the materials and not just the test scores. Hope this helps."

These are not the successor Tesla JJ company's manufacture, but older military production from around 1975 from the original Tesla company. Here is a description from Tubemonger's website: "Brand new, MINT NOS NIB NOV-DEC 1975 Original TESLA Military Production ECC802S - Replica of the famous Telefunken ECC802S tall plate with flanges. Non-corrosive alloy pins. Made by Rožnov n.p. závod Vrchlabí. Produced in former Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic). EC802S is a Premium version of 12AU7 ECC82 with low noise, and low microphonics. These tubes are very quiet and musical." For more details here are relevant links:
