The McIntosh 77 tuner is sort of overlooked by the newer MR-78 tuner (considered to be one of the best). If you do some Google research you will find that they are both designed by Modafferi and the difference between them is small. This one has new glass, all of the bulbs replaced, and has been aligned by the only factory authorized tech outside of McIntosh in New York on this continent. (there were also some parts replaced to allow the alignment)
The tuner is in fantastic condition having been in storage for over 20 years in a dry climate. The tuner pulls in stations like no ones business and sounds terrific. The walnut case is in very good condition and has been refinished. You will have a difficult time finding one in this condition with the walnut case and having had factory service. The photo that shows all of the lights working also has a MA-6100 amp in the picture.
There is one thing you should be aware of, the MR-77 tuner drift off center occasionally and you need to re-tune it, that is the difference between it and the 78 tuner.
I have the matching MA-6100 integrated amp for sale, it has been completely restored, has the walnut case, and is also in pristine condition. Buy them both and get a custom 11 ga cable that was made for the amp with cryo treated wire and pure copper pegs on one end to fit in the connectors. The photo that shows the lamps working is of them both, the amp is in a different ad on this site.
Note: because these Mac’s have glass faceplates I prefer a local sale.
