Up for sale, my restored British Logic DM 101 turntable, made in 1980s in England to compete with Linn LP12. Heavy plinth repainted with metallic auto paint, much better than chipped original dull gray finish. Linn Basik Plus tonearm with DIY cable, cartridge not included. The modification: the heavy metal subchassis was suspended on several springs which I eliminated and replaced with aluminum and rubber mounts (the soft bounciness was annoying.) Original springs included. All manual, very heavy. No cover. The Logic DM101 has an enormous alloy platter, inner platter, and spindle bearing. Motor can be balky but always runs quiet. Pulley spins true. I'm only selling because I'm not using it enough. I'll include the felt platter mat. Available with or without tonearm. Highlights:
Attractive satin finish gray-blue auto paint.
'Champagne' warm silver paint on sub-chassis.
Linn tonarm is excellent condition.
Large bearing spindle recently polished to mirror surface. Hi quality Mobil Velocite oil.
Solid, authoritative sound reproduction.
Highly polished alloy platter.
New rubber feet.
Electrics good.
New Logic logo exactly matches original. Lowlights:
A hair fast with included belt - a better belt should put speed spot-on. YMMV.
No dustcover.
Hard to run at 45rpm because of the pulley/belt arrangement. Subchassis will be locked down for shipment; platter wrapped separately. Assembly and set up will be necessary. Manuals available online. Asking $450. Subtract $200 if you don't want the tonearm. Will be well-packed, protected in bubble wrap and sturdy box, and ship within US by FedEx ground $32 (heavy).
Buyer will receive Turntable, tonearm and cable only, as shown. Thanks for looking. -Pete
