Up for sale is a Pear Audio Blue’s Kid Thomas turntable w/ Cornet 2 tonearm and the newer regulated power supply. This is an amazing turntable designed by the late Tom Fletcher of Nottingham Audio fame. Michael Fremer said : " that midrange was something special, with black backgrounds and tape -like musical flow and drive."
The Kid Thomas features a 2.5 inch thick platter, a double layer plinth and massive separate motor housing and armboard. The finish is natural wood.
The Kid Thomas has been in Stereophile’s Recommended Components as a Class A turntable consecutively since 2015 – it’s that good (link below).
Lightly used (weekends only) and is in like new condition. Approximately 2 y/o and rated 9/10. Original owner – bought new in July 2017. This is your opportunity to get an awesome looking/sounding turntable at a great price. Works flawlessly. Asking $5500 - price further reduced and motivated to sell. Paypal fees extra if used.
Does not include cartridge shown in the pix. New unit priced at ~$6k for turntable, ~$2k for Cornet 2 tonearm and ~$2k for the regulated power supply. Comes with plexi glass cover ($450), Little Fwend tonearm lifter ($250) and all original accessories that it came with (turntable mat, tools), boxes/packaging. This ad is only for local pick-up. I am in Pasadena CA. Send me an email if interested in an audition.
