These guys used many ideas from other turntable manufacturers like an acrylic platter, three point sprung suspension, extensive use of MDF… all of which really helps to control vibration. We took this very cleverly built table a few steps further! Cork was added to the MDF sub-chassis (light weight damping so not to impact the spring suspension). Extra care was taken to damp the motor. A Dynamat like material was applied to the bottom of the deck, real lead was affixed to the inside of the unit for mass, as was slate tile… slate is known for its damping qualities. The solid oak sides were lightly sanded and then hand polished; it is quite attractive. The arm is a Rega RB-250 (Moth branded) that has been rewired with cryo treated Cardas internal wires, Cardas tags, and a Cardas DIN. The external cable is one of our excellent sounding Frugal’s. There is one small crack in the finish on the top of the deck which is highlighted in one of the photos- it is not very noticeable at all. No dustcover.
