This solidly built belt-driven turntable is a milestone in the Sota line-up. Its name comes from the inverted bearing design with a sapphire thrust plate. Speeds are electronically switchable and easy to adjust. This non-vacuum unit is from the late 1980s and includes an upgrade to the suspension system performed by Sota, two dust covers, Sumiko Premier MMT arm, and an old Grado 8MZ Signature cartridge (which does not have a needle so if you stick with this cartridge, you will need a new needle). The turntable is in great shape. Note that the photos show a little top deck separation from the wood, consistent with it being an item made of wood. The arm is missing one screw where it attaches to the board - something not noticed after years of use since there is no wiggle - and something that is quite easy to remedy. There is a very small defect in the tinted dust cover that is visible in close-ups – but hard to see in practical use. The turntable comes with a fully operational tinted dust cover. You will also see a clear dust cover in the photos. This does not have the right attachments for the turntable, but could be modified to fit the hinges if desired. Consider it an extra… The unit has been used in a no-smoking, no-pets house. The turntable will be shipped in its original box – the one where the table is actually bolted to an internal piece of wood. In addition, I will supply the original set-up instructions. You will need a 3/32 allen wrench and a 1/2 inch wrench and I'll supply the allen wrench needed to disengage the platter. The arm and dust cover will come in a separate box. The shipping weight is ~70lbs. I am not a frequent poster or buy – sell guy but you can find some feedback on me at Audiogon under “compasmar” so buy with confidence.
