After some serious and careful deliberation, I’ve finally come to the decision that I will sell this truly amazing work of art that is the original Sykes + Hirsch Compacta High Fidelity Turntable, as featured in the March 1972 addition of Design magazine Back in 1971/72 this was selling new for £200, which is the equivalent of around £2000 in today’s money Not only extremely rare (virtually impossible) to find and very much sought after for any true connoisseur this fully working record turntable is in immaculate condition considering that it was made in the 1971-72 era and could potentially become the center piece for someone’s home/studio/office/club/bar etc.
It’s famous tone arm is the world renowned Transcriptors Fluid Arm which basically looks and works as if it were brand new and from the research I’ve done including it’s stylus and cartridge of this particular combined part is worth between £800 - £1000 just by itself, the cartridge is the Empire 2000E which again looks brand new too, then there is the 3 point elusive platter which principle is to even out record warp and obviously look’s stunning. It has a built in amplifier and radio all capable of attachment to any speakers, headphones or extension speakers and has plenty more features too, it also comes complete with the correct bulgin power lead I’ve recently been in touch with one half of the makers of the turntable and having spoken to many others alike the true value seems to be what ever someone is willing to pay therefore I am open to sensible offer’s, I’ve also been in contact with a music museum not too far from where I am in London whom also have taken much interest. As it stand’s I’m posting this in order to gather interest from any music lovers like myself and would appreciate any constructive input you might have.
