This plinth was an all out, one-off build for a good customer. It uses different internally loaded phenolic materials combined with an aluminum alloy much like duralumin. This metal is much different than than 6061 and uses a high copper content. It performs a very specific duty in directing unwanted vibrational energy away from the motor/bearing and tonearm. It works wonders for the MK 3. This TT is dead quiet. It lets the smallest detail reveal itself. Strong, well defined bass, textured mids and three dimensional high notes are hallmarks of this design. By removing the original cast aluminum top plate, I am able to mount the drive motor directly to a carefully chosen layer of the plinth. This layer absorbs the motor's specific resonant frequency. This way the motor's and bearing's "noise" is pulled away from the platter and record. This design was engineered with science, not a bunch of guess work. The original power supply has been completely updated with all new capacitors and other components that tend to wear with age. It works with 120v mains. Stillpoints OEM footers are included as are two blank armboards. I will guarantee this MK 3 to operate correctly for one year. I do have spare parts if needed and will always support my products. I have to say, these MK 3's have been very reliable over the years. Please call or write with any questions. 208-860-9559 Steve
