For sale is a Thorens TD-124 turntable that has been completely gone through with the following details. New idler wheel and correct Thorens belt. The main bearing was milled and a bronze inner sleeve was pressed in. Silicon Nitride ball bearing and a brass base plate were installed. It has the correct lubricating oil and the platter spins for a long period once the motor is turned off. The motor has new bronze shaft bearings and felt oil reserves. The power cord was replaced as was the capacitor. The neon bulb works and the motor comes up to speed quickly. The flywheel was polished as was the turntable bearing shaft. The motor suspension bushing were replaced. The arm board is made of solid ebony with a Tung oil finish. It has a cut out for an SME styled base. The table itself is in great shape with an early serial number (7548). The OMA slate base in the photos has been sold separately and is not included in this sale.
Asking price is $1300. I would prefer this to be a local cash sale in San Diego. I would consider shipping of the table if I can't find a local buyer.
