At last, after decades without true Thorens replacement springs, I have had new springs manufactured by one of the most respected spring-makers in the US. These high quality springs were reverse engineered from original Thorens springs...these are not Linn LP-12 springs in disguise! Obviously, the heart of the suspended subchassis turntable design is the springs. They isolate the subchassis in a frequency range that optimizes isolation. If you have never taken a look at your existing springs and grommets, they more than likely resemble the springs and grommets in the last several photos: worn, rusted, misshapen. Note how the old spring tilts to one side. This new kit not only contains three fresh springs, it contains:
