For sale is my Thorens TD121. This has been my main table for the past five years. I am including a Basis version of the RB300. The basis has a metal sleeve glued on the mounting threads, so I made an arm board with set screw that works well with the TD121, and provides adjustable VTA. The arm board is red birch.I rewired the arm using 4x33 cardas from clips to rca. The wire is shorter than normal with 21" of cable coming out of the table. The RCA's are Eichmann bullets. I am not sure how many hours are on the Ortofon 540 MKII, but I believe it is around 200 hours. The Arm and cartridge are basically throw-ins, the real star of the show is the TD-121. The upgrades include a motor isolation kit, motor bearing replacement, new idler wheel, new rubber mushrooms for the suspension, twenty-five pound baltic birch/mdf plinth with solid oak case. The platter, main bearing and mat are all stock. I have installed a spacer between the TD121 chassis and the main bearing. This elevates the platter relative to the arm and allows a neutral vertical tracking angle with the installed arm. The table is in excellent operational condition, although the new belt I installed is a little noisy. The table gets up to speed quickly, and holds its speed steady. The TD121 delivers rock steady sound, with great rhythm and pace, and good bass response, a clear step up from the P3 and TD160 machines I also have for sale. In fact, I sold my Michell Gyro SE after hearing what this table can do.
