Without apology to George R. R. Martin, I used this honey every day for over forty years. For the past year, it has been on loan to Gatormus Studio where it performed flawlessly making 78 rpm transfers. Subsequent to taking the attached photo a couple of years ago, I stripped the factory plinth down to the wood, and refinished it with tung oil. It is now several shades lighter than pictured. Apart from that and the occasional change of oil and belts, it is totally original and unmolested. Except for a ¾” hairline scratch that is only visible from the back, the paint looks great. It comes up to speed very quickly, and maintains it without drift. As they say in Westeros, Valar Morghulis – but first, men must downsize. My beloved Tannoy GRF Memories will be next, along with a beautiful McIntosh C34V preamp and 7270 power amp. If you have been contemplating a TD124, you could comb the Seven Kingdoms and not find one nicer than this. The buyer can pick it up in Clifton, New Jersey, or choose between UPS, USPS, and FEDEX.
