For sale is a Thorens TD 125 Mk II transcription turntable - WITHOUT tonearm.Cosmetically, this Thorens is generally in good condition, with the marks that would be expected in an item of this age. (The dust-cover has the usual scratches and minor swirl-marks typical of its age, and a 4" X 1" triangular segment is broken off at the back edge, but this cover is still certainly usable, and it can be included if the buyer prefers). This unit functions beautifully, with the sonic excellence expected of such high-quality Thorens turntables. The main capacitors have been changed, as per the main recommended precaution. Still, in many days of testing, the motor did mysteriously cut-out once (after the 'table was moved around and jostled a bit) and restarted when the speed-control was shifted back and forth. This never recurred, but there may be a very minor issue still to be addressed, eventually - minor; because the motor itself (most importantly) is absolutely certain to be 100% good. (Subsequent info from the 'net suggests that a simple spray-clean/lube of the speed switch etc could further ensure the issue doesn't return).
