Here is one matched quad made in the USA by Philips Holland after it acquired Sylvania. This is the wonderful Sylvania "welded-plate" said to be one of the best sounding 6550 tubes ever made, perhaps only second to the Tung Sol Blackplate 6550. These may be among the last available NOS Sylvania / Philips ECG 6550 quads on the planet, because collectors who own these are not selling. This quad is available only because I'm using SET amps and no longer own push-pull amps. All tubes are closely matched and tested -- very strong with no shorts and no gas. Price is similar to a quad of tubes made by Chinese slaves, but these are genuine Philips NOS UNOBTAINIUM. Price is $480 for matched quad.
