I have a dual voltage Marantz SM8 Esotec amplifier (120W x 2) for sale. Specifications are linked on the vintage knob website. Purchased new by me in 1983 while stationed in Germany - it was a display unit that wasn't used (slight case impression on top right there when I bought it). This amplifier has served me extremely well – never in the 35+ years I’ve owned it has it ever given me any issues. It was stored in a closet for many years after the service and while I was in college. Didn’t really start to seriously listen (a few hours a day) until late 2000. I haven’t used it in about 5 years since I purchased an integrated amplifier to save space. All functions worked fine (i.e. stable and even output to both channels, meters, lights, etc.) when packed up 5 years ago. The photographs were taken at time of listing. Original receipt, owner’s manual, and product manual from 1983 included. There are no marks on any sides. It was tested at a local stereo shop when I returned to the states to ensure it was running stable at 120V - this receipt is also included. Original box not available – it will be double boxed if shipped. This amplifier weighs around 40lbs. The Esotec line was extremely well built and great sounding. See the July 2003 review when former member Muzikmike came over to listen (I changed monikers - I was lplvr then). https://db.audioasylum.com/mhtml/m.html?forum=vinyl&n=226571&highlight=lplvr+it+was+a+hot&r=&search_url=%2Fcgi%2Fsearch.mpl%3Fforum%3Dvinyl%26searchtext%3D4.17.81.170 More photos available upon request - willing to meet within 50 miles of 17036 to deliver. Thanks
