Update: After tightening down the bolts on the buzzing transformer, the noise has been reduced significantly. Its still there, but is slight and not offensive. For sale are a nice looking and great sounding pair of monoblock 6V6 amplifiers based around vintage Baldwin transformers. These each feature (4) 6V6 tubes in the power section, for around 30 watts per channel. A nice quality tube set is included: two quads of Russian 6V6, vintage American 12AU7, 6C4 and 5V3A rectifiers. The good news: these amps sound quite good; nice and clear but with a warmth and tonality that vintage tube audio does so well. These look very good as well, with a thoughtful mirrored construction layout and good quality parts throughout. Build quality is excellent! The bad news: one monoblock has some slight mechanical transformer buzz after warming up for an hour or so. Rated 7 to be conservative, but these amps are very clean and other than the transformer buzz in one amp they function perfectly. These will ship well packed in two packages at 21x13x13 and 26 pounds each. Shipping has become quite expensive these days, I can't change that, sorry. Figure $150+ to California and somewhere in the middle elsewhere. Local pickup in the Washington DC area is also available, and preferable. Willing to make a nice deal for local pickup/demo. Trades also considered of course. As always, thanks for looking and questions welcomed.
