I built these earlier in the year, and am selling them after reconfiguring my listening system. Monoblock push pull 6550 / KT88 balanced amplifiers making around 30 watts per channel in ultralinear mode. I used the Pete Millett "universal" driver boards as the basis for these amps. Lundahl LL1690 input transformers allow single ended / balanced inputs, they also do the phase splitting rather than a tube. Two 6sn7 tubes provide gain. The amps are configured for 6550/KT88 output tubes. They can be used in Ultralinear or Triode output with the flick of a switch. You must have the amps powered off to make the switch. With 120 volt mains voltage the 6550 tubes are biased to output 87 mA / tube or about 77% maximal dissipation. The power transformer is 120v mains only. Power and output transformers are over spec'd Edcor. Enclosed power supply choke is from Hammond. Tube rectifier is 5U4 types. Other tubes included are EH matched pairs of 6550 tubes, and Amplitrex matched pairs of 6sn7gtb tubes. Input sensitivity is about .250 volts to get full output. High quality parts used throughout as can be seen in the photos. Chassis are custom made from Landfall Systems. Dimensions are 17 deep, 9 inches wide, amp with tubes and anti vibration feet are 9 inches tall. Each monoblock weighs 28 pounds. Each amp will be custom packaged in its own box for shipping.
