Up for sale, a vintage Radio Craftsmen C 400 tube amplifier, made in US early 1960s. Push-pull mono amp. Sound is terrific and it is silent - no background hum or hiss. The output transformer is not original but is a quality US-made Triad OPT. All tubes are vintage US tubes in keeping with the correct period. All test strong on my Hickok tester: 2-6V6, 6SN7, 6J5, and 5Y3 rectifier. Polished plated chassis has no visible corrosion.
[Edit: I'm adding 4 extra tubes to this sale - 6V6, 6SN7, and 6J5, all vintage and tested, in addition to the tubes installed]Power supply can capacitor replaced with good CP Manufacturing replacement. Other modern electrolytics used. Good quality resistors and caps replaced where needed using silver bearing solder, but the circuit has been kept mainly original. M-cap coupling caps. Voltages are a little higher than published but not way out of spec. There is no switch or fuse (as original) so must be controlled with preamp or power strip. 2 prong cord. Original speaker terminals plus adapters, 4 8 16 ohm taps. About 8-10 watts, fairly high gain. I will include a photocopy of the Sam's Photofact brochure. Buyer will receive 1 amplifier, as shown. Asking $365. Will be well-packed and shipped within US, $19 by FedEx ground (best rate for this weight). No PayPal fee. Thanks for looking.
