For sale is Radu Tarta’s “Turbo 45” single ended amplifier. This is a 45 drives 45 Sakuma-style amplifier that, with the flip of a switch, is also capable of running the higher output EML 45B for around 4 watts of power. This is one of the finest amplifiers of any kind that I have owned to date, a true work of audio art. This is a very large amplifier, measuring 21x14 inches and weighing around 55 pounds. This amp features Electra Print output transformers, a custom Heyboer power transformer, and Lundhal C core interstage transformers. All filaments are DC regulated. Panel meters monitor the high voltage and the output tubes, although the left output meter needs a tap or two at startup to get to the right reading. This is completely silent while running on my 100 db/wm speakers, with no noise of any kind. This amplifier comes with a pair of EML 45, a pair of EML 45B, an RCA red base 6SN7 and a pair of 6CJ7 rectifiers. This was the best sounding tube set that I used with the amp and offers around 4 watts of single ended power. This also comes with a second wooden base, made of Walnut, in addition to the Bocote wood base that the amp is currently mounted in. I have quality packaging for this amp, and it will ship in two large boxes; one for the amp itself and a second box for the extra walnut base and the tubes. Local pickup in the Washington DC area is also available of course (and preferred). More photos and my listening impressions are on my hifi website at: http://www.glowinthedarkaudio.com/radu-tarta-turbo45.html As always, thanks for looking and questions welcomed.
