This is a nice Eico HF-81 integrated tube amplifier restored in July 2019 by Analog Engineering Associates, Inc. (AEA) of San Mateo to a tune of $650.00. I will include a copy of the receipt. Here is a list of work performed: Hand Cleaning; Clean and Lubricate Controls; All Components Tested and Replaced as Necessary;
Power supply capacitor replacement/upgrade;
Signal Capacitor Replacement/Upgrade to Audiophile Grade Capacitors;
Inrush Current Limiter/Soft Start;
Custom Phono Preamp Mod;
Critical Bias Adjustment;
Convert tape output to lineout for subwoofer. The only issue is that the power switch does not work, so I use a power strip to turn on/off. The phono section has two Fisher-branded Telefunken 12AX7. The linestage has two American (perhaps RCA) cleartop 12AU7. The driver tubes are two Winged C 12AX7. The 4 power tubes are Russian EL84/6BQ5 equivalent. The 2 EZ81 rectifier tubes are JJ. The phono section is awesome. And as you know, the Eico HF-81 is already well known for its linestage performance. Volume pot changed to Alps blue velvet by Johnson Wu.
