For sale, Knight KN940A stereo integrated tube amplifier from around 1963. Face and knobs are clean and shiny. Original US transformers. All transformers are good - sound is excellent, maybe not the last word in vintage amps but really clean with no hum. Many sound shaping controls on front.
Circuit is original. I gave this amp a very thorough going-over - it works well, so I decided to leave the capacitors alone, except a Sprague Atom on the output tubes cathode. The original coupling caps are very good quality but a new owner might like to change them. Sounds warm and full with good bass. 3 line inputs + decent Phono section. Headphone jack is noisy. No fuse on AC.- Good, tested, original US Raytheon 6BQ5 and 12AX7 tubes. RCA EZ81 rectifier and 2 RCA 12AX7 in phono. All sockets cleaned. - Some connections resoldered - Cardas eutectic silver-bearing solder used in signal path. - 4,8,16 ohm speaker terminals. - Original screw-type speaker terminals (you can add easily-found banana adapters). - Better, long 3-prong power cord added. Voltages within spec. Front plate nearly pristine. Knobs clean. Metal top had some markings so it was repainted in flat black. Buyer will receive 1 amplifier, w/ tubes, as shown. Asking $475. I've sold many components such as this to very satisfied buyers here. Will be well-packed and ship by FedEx ground within 48 state US - best price for this weight. Will try to keep shipping cost to a minimum. See my seller feedback and thanks for looking.
