These are pretty rare beasts, and frankly I didn't know that KLH used EMIT tweeters before Infinity did, but here we are with a pair of very high end speakers from the mid 70's. There's not a lot of information available on these, but they were certainly a statement product. Not only does this model use 2 EMIT's per channel but I guess KLH developed a new type of magnetic alloy for the woofers, and they are pretty impressive with large square magnets. The mids are the notable Peerless K040's which were also used in many other higher priced speakers during the 70's. The woofers and mids have been re-foamed, and everything works great. I did have to replace the L-pad used on the mids with a modern 8 ohm L-pad which isn't a perfect replacement, but I still have the original L-pads if the buyer wants to clean them and use them. Cosmetics One woofer does have a dent in the cone. The grilles are very nice, but the cabinets do have some cosmetic issues, although they still look quite nice. One cabinet has a dark stain on top that I worked pretty hard to lighten, but it's still there and you can see it in the pictures. There are also a few small defects along a couple of the cabinet edges, but nothing unusual for 45 yo speakers. The walnut bases could use some attention as they have some veneer chipping. These speakers are being sold as local pickup only near Akron, Ohio. Payment will be cash upon pickup
