PRICE DROP - $1500These 612 cabinets were built for me using an original 1950's vintage Altec cabinet as the template. In all regards these boxes match the original. Mounted are two PAS 15" coaxial (the heavy ones with the 2" throat). PAS horn drivers (Italian) are mounted using custom milled circular adapter plates (the original ones were an odd rectangular kind that I really hated). These have no ferrofluid in them so the efficiency is above 100db. The frames and drivers are packed with poly-plastic modeling clay (about 20lbs on each speaker) - to add mass to the spider and drivers (voo-doo to some - but it worked for me). This was a trick Don and several of us all adopted and we swear by it. The crossovers were made by Don specifically for these two speakers. The toroids were hand-wound using solid silver wire by Peter Clark (the man behind Redpoint Audio Design). They will likely last forever because of the oil-filled caps that were used. I have them mounted to the outside back of each cabinet, similar to the way some Mastering Labs units used to be mounted. These are wonderful sounding speakers. My SET 2A3 / 300B amps provide plenty enough power to drive these. I would like to invite prospective buyers to come listen to them in my home in Fredericksburg, Virginia. We're about 50 miles South of Washington, DC. These weigh about 150lbs each. They could be shipped, but it would be very expensive. Pickup from my home is recommended. These are vintage speakers (the drivers and crossovers are about 22 years old) - so there is no warranty and they cannot be returned. I have impeccable feedback on eBay. Thank you, $1500
