SF BAY AREA LOCAL sale only at this time! Pickup in Oakland. For sale is a pair of Falcon Acoustics IMF100 monitors in walnut. These are a brilliant transmission line design using the exact same drivers as the Falcon ls3/5a and have a similar voicing. Where they really differ is an extra octave+ of bass, and the kind of bass -- taught and fast. I was really amazed at the size and heft of the image these can do for such a small speaker, and so is everyone of my audio buddies who's heard them. Condition is pristine, like-new. I will say that where they also differ from ls3/5a is that they are lower impedance -- 8 ohm -- and prefer more power than the ls3/5a designs can get away with. They love tubes but a speaker for a 300B SET they are not. Now once you get to a good 30-40 watts of pushpull or a SET like 845, then they really start to sing. I suspect that anything between 50 and 100 watts will be where they are at their best. The only reason I am selling is because I have moved to a new place and that I also have the Falcon's Q7 as well, which are smaller physically and I can't keep both in the new space. These are now packed in boxes but I can set them up to provide a quick audition for a serious buyer. Will consider trades as long as it's not another speaker because I have more than what I know what to do with and no more room :) Might be interested in a r2r or multibit DAC potentially, with cash either way. Try me if you have something else in mind, too. Happy to answer any questions.
