Rare example of Mr. Graham's unipivot arm. This was an Excalibur when new but it was upgraded by a dealer using Graham's 1.5 armwand and tungsten bearing. I replaced the Excalibur SME-style mounting base/sled with a heavy steel machinist's precision shaft mounting collar. This hex-keyed mounting base significantly improved the arm's performance and makes VTA adjustment a breeze. In Stereophile, Dick Olsher found that the Graham 1.5 bettered his SME V and I would say that this particular arm, with its vastly improved mount, sounds at least that good. The pics show that the arm is in terrific cosmetic condition. One of the azimuth counterweights is slightly discolored but I couldn't get that to read in the photos. Including original sliding mount for collector value but the upgraded mount is sonically superior by a wide margin, particularly in bass articulation and mid-range clarity. I will remove the silicone damping fluid and include a small syringe of the same for you to refill bearing cup after shipping. See the link showing the original beast. I believe it's correct that perhaps a dozen or two of these arms were made. Please note that this arm is compatible with pre-Phantom armwands as they all use the same Bendix aerospace connector. I will include the original bearing and a second anti-skate mechanism, part of the 1.5 upgrade that was not installed because except for its string and tiny screw, it's identical to the original.
