SIX (6) Philips E80CC (aka 6085) tubes offered. These are the top Special Quality tubes made in the Heerlen plant. I am asking $50 per tube. You would pay much more for them from good tube dealers.These tubes are potential substitutes for 12AU7/ECC82 tubes so long as your component can handle the extra current. I used only these tubes in the driver section (3 tubes needed there) of my beautiful but now sold VAC 160iSE integrated amp. I only used these because they sounded the best - extra bass and dynamics, larger images and overall more gripping sound. And I tried pretty much everything as I was a bit of a tube fanatic. I am pretty certain you will love them in that place if you have this amp. Or another amp that can accommodate the extra current. Please be careful where you use them. These tubes will only work if your amp can accommodate the extra current, so please only use them if you know what you are doing or check with your manufacturer. I can tell you that they are absolutely fine for the VAC 160i or 160iSE as I checked that myself with VAC. Kevin Hayes himeslf told me it was absolutely fine to use in place of standard 12AU7 types in the driver section (right side, front tubes). I used them as my driver tubes in that amp for years and loved them as I said above. However, they are absolutely not OK to use in the preamp/phono section of that amp (i.e., the left side) which also requires one 12AU7 as the underlying plates in that section cannot accommodate the extra current. So you must check first before using them other than where I am indicating above for the VAC 160i/160iSE amps. I am going to guess that they will be fine as driver tubes for the new VAC 170i integrated too, but Kevin/Brent will be able to confirm this for you so please ask them. I am quite certain you will not be disappointed by their performance in that spot. As I recall from one NY Audio show I went to, Absolare was showing their hybrid integrated amp with these tubes in place of standard 12AU7s. I am sure many amps, preamps, DACs etc can accommodate them, but you must check first. These long lasting premium vintage tubes are now well out of production. They were made by Philips in their Heerlen plant in the Netherlands. This production facility is indicated by the code beginning with the delta symbol printed on the tube along the bottom edge.
