LOCAL SF BAY AREA SALE AND PICK UP ONLY!This plinth was custom made for me by a then local craftsman some years ago. The idea was use various materials and vary the direction of the layers. Aesthetically, the intention was to create a mausoleum of sorts :) The core of the plinth is made from layered plywood, glued and bolted together. There are two cavities inside filled with lead shot. Exterior trim is gabon ebony and pear solid wood (no veneer used). Ebony was hand-polished with beeswax, so can be restored to an absolute gorgeous sheen using the same product with minimal work. The plinth weights somewhere between 35 and 45lbs -- I have no way to weigh it precisely right now. I also have a bunch of armboards made of various hard woods, undrilled, that can be part of the deal. I'll consider trades plus-minus cash in either direction as needed. Would consider a DAC but let me know if you have something else in mind. For the buyer of the plinth I can also provide an extra simpler one -- also in the pictures at no charge. The other one follows a more classic lightweight TD124 plinth frame design, is much lighter but also of quite good construction quality. The dark shade on it isn't stain but was some chemical process that I forget the name for. Looks pretty great in person actually. Sonically I much prefer the mausoleum plinth but it's a matter of preference. The small plinth can be sold separately for $50 ONLY FOR LOCAL PICKUP!!
