This is a really outstanding example of the Thorens TD-125 MKII turntable. As you can see in the photos, this one is extremely clean and the oil rubbed walnut plinth is simply one of the nicest I’ve seen. Mounted is an excellent condition SME 3009 Series III tonearm with the coveted silicon damping trough and medium paddle attached. This SME 3009-3 also has the original SME titanium nitrate arm wand with magnesium head shell, an upgrade over stock.. This arm allows for every adjustment in the book and if you like to dial in your cartridge and stylus, gunning for zero tracking error, this arm will allow. Tonearm cable included.The arm now sports an amazing Shure VST V with new JiCo SAS. The cartridge is perfectly mated to the arm and is probably Shure’s finest effort. The stylus is perfect, msg me for images m. If you want me to incl this rare TOL cartridge/styus, kindly add $600 to the asking price. Overall, this table rivals that of modern turntables costing 4-5 times as much and sounds like music, not a turntable playing a record, but music! I have put together another TD-125 very similar to this one, so this extra needs a new home. I fabricated a 5/8 Baltic birch base for this TD-125 and applied two coats of black acrylic base paint. Original excellent condition baseboard is also included. The CoRkeRy composition rubber and cork nat is included as well. No original mat included. There are no functional issues with this turntable , tonearm, or the cartridge. Everything works perfectly. It is a solid 8/10 cosmetics wise as you can see in the photos. One scuff on the right side panel. Price is firm.
