This is the well appointed version of these speakers.
Upgrades over the base model include:
JBL 2226h 15" wooofer,
B&C DE-250 horn,
15ga inductors,
Janzen Z caps,
ans Mils resistors.The Pi Speaker website (FAQ's) does a thorough job explaining the the advantages of the upgrades.
Also, read about uniform directivity design of the speakers. These speakers have a large (wide) sweet spot during playback. Cabinets are 3/4" solid cherry, walnut and flat lacquer finish. Built to size specifications, proper insulated and well braced.
I would consider the cabinets 'hobby grade', not professional.
Cabinets rated an 8, hardware is a 9. I had these speakers connected to a few different amplifiers, sources and in various rooms in my house. Playback is impressive and resolving.
Original owner/builder, less than 3 years old. These speakers have seen little use, mostly weekends if I was home. 26X18X14 and about 80+ lbs ea. They are available for pick-up or meet.
