This sweet little VAC amp is quite surprising, and a tube rollers and tweakers dream. It uses EL34 power tubes, which are about as sweet a midrange as you can get aside of 300B SET tubes. This amp puts out 35 watts per channel, for those that can't get by with a 8-10 wpc SET amp. This amp was sent back to VAC in Feb/12 for an $1200 upgrade including new resistors, caps, wiring, and Cardas RCA jacks. You get a taste of the magical VAC sound for under $2K!!! The amp works perfectly and comes with many, many tubes to play with, including Telefunken and Psvane input tubes. Mullard XF-2's (my favorite), Gold Lion KT-77's, Winged C's EL34's and many, many more. Enough tubes to keep you busy all winter long! A Hi-Fi Tuning SilverStar fuse will stay with the amp as well. On top of that, there is a front panel switch that allows for feedback to be adjusted in 1 dB increments from 0dB to 5dB. This allows the amp to integrate better with all different types of speakers. There is also a 3 way ground switch on the back of the amp to help the amp fit into any type of system with any grounding issues. Loads of fun to play with here.
