Well I thought that I had priced this fairly for a quick sale, but the market says otherwise. Lots of looks, no offers. Before moving onto an auction site, I will offer the opportunity for offers to be submitted here. I am able to go a bit lower than I might otherwise, given the absence of fees that we are so fortunate to enjoy on Audio Asylum. In order not to waste anyone's time, I can not consider offers below $1,750.This is the latest model in the very well regarded LFD integrated lineup. Glowing reviews can be found online, but the character of this piece is captured most accurately, I believe, by Sam Tellig in Stereophile, where it resides as a Class A recommended component. Having previously owned the MK IV version, which I felt to closely approximate all the best characteristics of a fine SET tube amp, including harmonic weight, transparency, and a "lit within" quality to instrumental portrayal, the MK V version improves upon these attributes significantly. In fact, as good as the MK IV version was, I feel there is no comparison between the two, specifically in the areas of bass quality and overall tonal weight. The unit is as new in appearance and function. In the interest of full disclosure however, I did send it to the distributor Fidelis Audio, for repair after a short in my speaker cable caused a decrease in volume in one channel. It has since functioned flawlessly, and to my ears, sounds better than ever. Completely balanced, with no issues whatsoever. It is hard to imagine a better sounding integrated amplifier at this price, particularly if you are a lover of a triode tube circuit type of sound, but without the tube related hassles, and the ability to drive real world speaker loads at 65 wpc. Please note my extensively positive feedback both on ebay and Audiogon, and deal with confidence.
