I have two MMC20CL cartridges for sale. This is the best cartridge B&O ever made and has the Praminik contact line stylus! This cartridge is highly regarded, do an internet search and read the glowing testimonials on it. This cartridge fits the Beogram 4000/4002/4004/8000 turntables and one of them has an standard 1/2" adaptor for non-B&O turntables.
I am the original owner of one of the MMC20CLs and I estimate it has 200 hours of play on it. I purchased the second one as a backup spare and was told it had 50 hours of play on it. I have a 200x microscope and I have inspected both stylus. Both are exceptionally clean with no damage and both have straight cantilevers. As to wear, I am no expert on knowing what stylus wear even looks like, but I can say that both stylus look great and you would be hard pressed to pick out the one with fewer hours on it.
The one I owned from new was used on my Beogram 4004 and never had a "oh-shit" moment in its life. It was babied. Of course the Beogram 4004 is so very gentle on lps and stylus. Tracking force was set at 1.0 grams, it was never accidentally dropped and never "played the label". I meticulously clean my records with a vacuum record cleaning machine and I always clean the stylus after every play with a proper stylus brush and cleaning fluid. It sounded as good the day I took it out of service as the day I bought it.
The stylus I purchased has been examined by me and is as described above. I played it for an evenings listening session shortly after I received it to confirm it worked and it sounded at least as good as my original. I did not dwell on comparing to see if it was better due to less hours on it, you would have exceptionally good ears to tell the difference.
Both cartridges come in their original jewel case with various accessories (brush, etc) and individual calibration/specification sheets.
I am asking $300 obo for each of them. I prefer paypal but will accept money order or personal check (will wait for it to clear before I ship).
