Fully balanced VT130 with ARC Infinicap upgrade-- a nice improvement. Good Svetlana 6550C, fresh Jan Phillips 6922, EI 12BH7. Original owner since 1997. Includes ARC XLR/RCA converters to facilitate use with a single-ended preamp. Includes original double boxes, manual, schematics, & biasing instructions.Note: Scuffing on top of transformers was caused by use of VPI bricks. None of this is visible with the amp cover installed, and the amp is in other respects cosmetically fine. VT130 was introduced concurrently with VT150 monoblocks as W.Z. Johnson's first major redesign after the long-lived Classic 60 and 120 series. Johnson described the VT130 as having 80% of the performance of the VT150 monoblocks at a fraction of the price. Several years later VT130 was reissued as VT130SE with a $3K upcharge to $8K. VT130 and VT130SE are the same amplifiers except for addition of front panel meters and a larger transformer in SE version. VT100 that followed was conceived as a budget piece; VT130 handily outperforms VT100 Mk I & II. If you can live with its somewhat plain-jane appearance VT130 is one outstanding ARC tube amp.
