We use the Amplitrex AT-1000, the most accurate tube tester in the world, in conjunction with a Lenovo X61 computer to quickly run the most thorough battery of tests your tubes will ever experience. Our service provides you with the most detailed report money can buy (shown right), down to the mu of the tube. Each tube's electrical properties are analyzed for heater-to-cathode leakage, shorts, grid leakage (gas test), plate current (emission), and transconductance is measured. We can cater to your unique circuit by adjusting test parameters, and we test in Auto-bias or Fixed-bias mode (default is fixed). This unit out performs all the Hikocks, Funke, AVO, and the monster Russian testers; it's accuracy is unprecedented at 2%, and it can test tubes at up to 500v (160mA). It tests multi-section tubes, diodes, rectifiers and electron ray indicators, and is optimized to precisely test audiophile-grade tubes. Need precisely matched power tubes to get that Gibson EH-150 singing? How about figuring out if your Tung Sol 5687 ribbed plates are worthless...or priceless; worth $5 as opposed to $500 dollars.
The AT1000 accommodates 7 and 9-pin miniature tubes, standard octal tubes, and 4, 5 and 6-pin small-base tubes with a heater or filament voltage between 1.0 and 12.6 volts. Direct(filament) or indirect-heated (heater/cathode) tubes can be tested. Tubes with a grid or plate cap can also be tested.
We can help you to set up matched pairs of vacuum tubes and weed out bad tubes which will pass as "tested good on my Hikock". If your tube is not in the current Amplitrex database, we can add it if you have your tube's data sheet. Return shipping costs match your outgoing costs so email about pricing for larger batches; the shipping cost noted here is the estimated cost to ship a batch of preamp or small power tubes (between 1-20) via USPS with delivery confirmation. Results are put on each box, and a data sheet is emailed and provided to the end user. For further information, see the testing procedures page on our site. Please note that international shipping often can not include any type of confirmation unless USPS Global Express Guaranteed is used, which is VERY expensive. It's only an option if you want to pay for it. Please choose insurance if you think it is truly warranted. I personally have faith that delivery confirmation and a well packed shipment is enough piece of mind.
