Pair of Shuguang 845B tubes in perfect nice original box. I am sure these have less than 100 hours on them. In other words, the buyer doesn't have to suffer through break-in. These were originally purchased from Super TNT, with a whopping big shipping price, about 2 years ago. The Shuguang 845B tube is based on the Amperex 845 design, with the inner structure cantilevered from the tube bass. This is not to be confused with the Shuguang 845 tube, a less expensive tube based on the RCA 845 design, which has mica disks at the top of the inner structure for support. I have heard both these tube styles in my home built 845 amp, and prefer the 845 to the 845B in my amp, which is why I seek to sell the pair of tubes. I have also heard both of these tube styles in the DeHavilland 845 amp, and prefer the 845B in the DeHavilland amp, as does Kara Chaffee, who designed and manufactures the DeHavilland amps. I would say that the Shuguang 845B has a cleaner sound than the 845, but that in certain amps the 845 may have a more romantic sound. In any event, I'm now playing the 845 tubes I started with, and selling the 845B pair, which I am sure has less than 100 hours. I will ship anywhere in the U.S. or Canada for $10, insured. Contact me at peteriggle@msn.com, or 509/582-4548. I'll be on the road for the next 10 days, so until February 18 email is best. Also, would be happy to trade for a pair of low hours Shuguang 2A3B or 2A3C tubes (I'm not sure which I want at this point . . . any advice?).
