JBL Paragon C44, Hand made.....it is arguably the most sought after vintage loudspeaker system ever made. Only about 1,000 Paragons were made over the 25 years of production. As you probably know if you are viewing this, it is a very rare loudspeaker. A one-of-a-kind!!!
This system is equiped with all of the original with exception to one of the 375 drivers, serial tag is missing so I can't be certain. LE15A 15" bass drivers, 375 midrange drivers attached to horns and 075 tweeters. The diaphram has been replaced in one on the 375 drivers...it still had the red JBL wax caps covering the screws until I repaired them. The serial # tag is missing on the repaired driver. I will provide serial numbers upon request. The paint has chipped off the back cover of the repaired 375 driver. I think it is the original driver but can't be certain. All other drivers are in excellent condition. The Woofers look like new, surrounds still look good and sound great. This Paragon sounds and looks amazingl! The cabinet is walnut veneer. I'm guessing this Paragon system was purchased brand new around 1976-78 by my uncle. They have been in my family the entire time. As I have moved many times, they show signs of use, have got some minor nicks and scratches as you would expect for a speaker system that is about 30 plus years old. One unit (Left side if looking at the front) has a small corner broken off of the bottom back corner. I consider this Paragon to be in good shape( a 6 on the Audiogon scale) but not prestine. Measures approximately 103.5’’ X 28’’ X 32’’ tall and weighs aproximately 600 Lbs.
The only thing missing from this system is the little aluminum pieces that hold the two units together. I have been using the unit without them for years. Each unit is very heavy so it doesn't have a negative effect.
