The Nola Boxer S1 is an upgrade to the original highly regarded standard Boxer. It adds point to point wired Mundorf oil capacitors and Nordost monofilament silver wiring replacing the original components. I owned the original Boxers before buying the S1s and the difference was easily heard. They were taken out of the box when new, placed on stands and not moved until these pictures were taken. They have been played only with 20-30 watt tube amplifiers. The piano finish is American cherry with beautiful matched grain. The condition is exceptional, no signs of use at all. The cabinet measures 15 1/2 inches (H) x 8 inches (W) x 11 1/2 inches (D). Rated impedance is 8 ohms, and frequency response is specified as 44 Hz - 28 kHz. Sensitivity is high at 90 dB. The 6.5 inch bass driver utilizes a laminated pulp cone, while the high frequency unit is a silk dome tweeter. The tweeter face plate incorporates a shallow wave guide and a felt ring to control diffraction. A detachable black cloth grill is supplied. The original Boxer was an Absolute Sound Product of the Year and the S1 is an improvement on the original.
