I bought these from the original owner some number of years ago and do not have the original boxes, as they were ruined in my great basement flood (1-2 inches of water spread across the floor hence the water exposure damage to the speakers) when I lived in upstate NY. At 90+ pounds each, these speakers are too big to be shipped anyway. I am asking $400 and for that amount I am willing to personally meet buyer/deliver up to 200 miles from my location in Raleigh, NC or anywhere between Atlanta and DC. I am also planning a road trip to upstate NY so I could meet someone in/around DC/VA, Phila, metro NY/NJ or even western NE. I will also be traveling to Ohio/Indiana and maybe Tennessee as well, so call me ASAP at 252-402-6248! Also: please refer to my other items for sale in the list below.

In case you don't know about these, they are a product of John Sollecito Engineering (JSE) featuring the Richard Modefarri designed/engineered "Infinite Slope" crossover network, built with top quality parts/components.

These are the “1.8” model/version and they have the following specs: 1'' Dynaudio (D28?) silk-dome tweeter, 5-1/2'' mid-range; 2x10'' woofers; 40'' H (they originally come w/ casters) x 14-1/2'' W x 17''-13'' D (bottom to top). Walnut finish. Black lacquer finish on the backside and under the speaker. Bi-wireable.

The unfortunate news is that some water exposure/finish damage exists around one bottom corner/side of each speaker which of course in no way affects the sound, and in practicality can be unnoticeable depending on set-up (toe-in) and definitely even less so when sitting back and simply listening. One speaker is more adversely affected than the other, which is fairly minor. I still confidently rate them "8/10", but your psychological reaction may vary. I encourage checking my feedback on Audiogon under "Soberdude", where I have over 9 years of nothing but positive transactions; I am not about "getting over" on people or being deceitful.

I would keep these but they simply need more space (i.e., a dedicated listening room) than I can give them, so would end-up sitting somewhere in storage. I'd rather someone else enjoy them.

These are the most revealing speakers and are extremely dependent on the amplifier and cables used with them. Tube amps are most recommended, while solid-state amps and "silver"-type cables would be a crap-shoot. The more clean, undistorted watts/amperes and even order harmonics you can feed them, the better they respond.

Given the overall engineering and quality here it's easy to understand how others have suggested that similar build quality/performance like this would cost in the neighborhood of $4,000-$6,000 (or more?) today; I'm confident that the tweeter and mid-range drivers (which are supposedly Scan-speak and/or SEAS, respectively?) alone cost several hundred dollars.

Even with the cosmetic damage notwithstanding, I confidently doubt that it'd be possible to buy speakers of this pedigree for $400 and have them delivered-or at least meet you half-way!

I encourage you to please check all my feedback, and particularly the transactions in which I have been the seller; it reflects how I conduct my Audiogon business and the equipment I have sold. I've never had any issues with shipping problems or the condition of gear that I have sold; I guarantee my reputation that this unit is without flaw! I am not into playing games and go out of my way to make fast and positive transactions.
